The role | Te tunga
The Senior Advisor Official Correspondence provides expertise and support to the business in the drafting of high-quality official correspondence responses, including parliamentary questions, ombudsman and privacy requests. This role works collaboratively across the Department to ensure the business is well supported to deliver official correspondence within the legislative/ministerial expected timeframes by servicing internal reporting and tracking of requests and correspondence. The role plays an integral part in ensuring we manage risk associated with official correspondence, building capability and applying consistency across the business.

- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate responses within legislative and ministerial timeframes
- Ability to effectively manage official correspondence processes, proof reading and peer reviewing of Ministerials, parliamentary questions, Official Information Act requests, Aide Memoirs, speeches and event briefings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear and effective advice and support to the business on official correspondence matters
- Strong analytical skills, judgement and decision making and innovative thinking
- Ability to identify and effectively mitigate risks and issues
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work at all levels of an organisation.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and deliver in a fast- paced environment
- Ability to interpret legislation and other technical information
