The Opportunity
We're looking for a motivated Smokefree Practitioner - Partnership & Outreach Lead to grow engagement and increase referrals into the Ready Steady Quit service. This role focuses on building strong community and business partnerships, developing referral pathways, delivering workshops, and supporting "champions" within organisations to refer smokers into support.
You will also provide behavioural smokefree support to whānau (approx. 30% of the role), helping people on their journey to becoming smokefree.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain community, business, and organisational partnerships
- Develop and support referral "champions"
- Deliver workshops and smokefree education sessions
- Increase referrals into the Ready Steady Quit service
- Provide one-on-one and group smokefree support to whānau
- Promote smokefree messaging across the community
About you
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, health promotion, or partnership roles
- Not afraid to engage with potential partners
- Confident delivering workshops or group sessions
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to equity
- Experience working with Māori, Pasifika, and diverse communities
- Motivational interviewing or behaviour change skills (desirable)
You must
- Be a non-smoker
- Have a full, clean NZ driver's licence
- Have the ability to work in community settings and travel locally
Desirable
- Stop Smoking Practitioner training
- Comes with existing networks
- Health, wellbeing, or community development background
- Experience in smokefree programmes
