Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Registered Drainlayer to join our Gisborne team delivering critical water infrastructure projects throughout the region.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being out on site, solving problems, and taking pride in delivering high-quality work. You'll play a key role in constructing and upgrading wastewater, stormwater and drainage networks that support local communities.

In this role, you'll be involved in

  • Installing wastewater, stormwater and drainage infrastructure
  • Laying PVC, PE and concrete pipelines
  • Constructing manholes, catchpits and chambers
  • Working on water reticulation upgrades and network improvements
  • Reading and interpreting plans and specifications
  • Undertaking confined space work and live network tie-ins
  • Working safely and collaboratively within a high-performing crew

Nga Pūkenga Matua | What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who takes pride in delivering quality work and enjoys being part of a team that gets the job done right.

You'll ideally have:

  • A Level 3 Drainlaying qualification (minimum)
  • Current registration with the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board (PGDB)
  • Proven experience in drainage and reticulation construction
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to health, safety and quality
  • Full Class 1 licence (Class 2 advantageous)
  • The ability to think ahead, solve problems and adapt to changing site conditions
