As a Senior Trade Specialist you will lead the end-to-end delivery of trade finance transactions, acting as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders.

In this role you will:

  • Manage end-to-end trade finance transactions with accuracy, timeliness, and strong risk discipline.
  • Support a wide range of products including Letters of Credit and Standby Letters of Credit, Bonds and Guarantees and Trade finance loan facilities.
  • Review and validate complex trade documentation, ensuring alignment with international rules and best practice.
  • Prepare and transmit SWIFT messages accurately and efficiently.
  • Act as a first point of contact for Trade customers, partner banks, and internal stakeholders.
  • Resolve queries and manage exceptions ensuring service levels are consistently met.
  • Share your expertise and mentor others to lift capability across the team.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance customer, operational, and risk outcomes.

At Kiwibank, we will help you build on your strengths and develop new skills, but in the meantime, we would love to hear from you if you have some of the following skills and experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Trade Operations and trade finance products
  • Strong knowledge of international trade rules and practices eg UCP600, URC522, ISBP.
  • Experience working with SWIFT and international banking systems.
  • Proven ability to review and manage complex trade documentation.
  • Sound understanding of trade-based money laundering risks and controls.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships.
  • A detail-focused, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
