About The Role

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced, proactive and agile Production Planner to join our team due to the retirement of a long-standing employee. This role offers extensive onboarding, training and support to ensure a smooth transition and long-term success.

Ideally you will be based at Ashburton with an option for Christchurch, you will play a pivotal role managing production planning across multiple manufacturing sites and production lines to optimise supply performance, customer service and operational efficiency.

This role does not have direct reports but requires strong stakeholder engagement across manufacturing, procurement, logistics, sales and customer service teams to ensure effective cross-site planning outcomes.

What Your Typical Day May Include

  • Manage and optimise production planning and scheduling across multiple manufacturing sites and lines
  • Develop supply plans aligned to customer demand, inventory targets and operational capability
  • Drive production efficiency through effective scheduling and minimising downtime and waste
  • Lead site supply review meetings and support the S&OP process
  • Identify and manage supply and demand risks through proactive planning and problem solving
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning processes and systems
  • Maintain ERP system planning master data including BOMs, routings and planning parameters
  • Provide reporting and planning insights to support operational decision making
  • Manage and support intersite stock transfers where applicable

About You

  • Seasoned experience in supply/production planning or scheduling within the manufacturing industry (Plastics, FMCG or high-speed manufacturing with complex process’ – highly considered)
  • Technically savvy with excellent excel computer skills and proficient with ERP systems
  • APIC or Oliver Wright certification is desirable but not mandatory
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with all stakeholders including customers, and influence and negotiate to get the best outcome.
  • Demonstrated collaborative style who is positive and enjoys trouble shooting to find the best solution.
  • Excellent time management and coordination skills with a sense of urgency, results focused to meet daily production KPI’s and targets, with high attention to detail and analytical mindset
  • You have a can-do attitude, are flexible, adaptable and want to jump onboard to help us continue to grow our manufacturing capability
  • If successful, travel is required between both Ashburton and Christchurch depending on location
