Senior Engineering Geologist – Transport
As a Senior Engineering Geologist in our Transport team based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.

What You’ll Do
This is a senior consulting role for an engineering geologist who is ready to take greater ownership of their work by guiding investigations, developing ground models for complex geological environments, and helping our clients understand and manage ground risk. Some of the work you will get involved in:
- Plan and lead complex ground investigations
- Interpret ground conditions and lead development of 3D models
- Provide ground engineering and ground risk advice
- Deliver technical reports and geotechnical assessments
- Support transport, water and infrastructure project delivery
- Mentor junior engineering geologists and field staff
- Coordinate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Contribute to proposals and wider project delivery activities
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology
- 8+ years’ experience within engineering geology consulting and a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in Auckland
- Strong capability across investigations, interpretation and reporting
- Experience leading field programmes and mentoring others
- Experience with GIS, LeapFrog, Rocscience, gINT/OpenGround or similar
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Chartered status or working toward chartership
- NZ driver licence and strong HSE mindset
