We’re looking for either Senior Analysts or Managers to join our Risk Services team in Pōneke / Wellington or Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland. This role is ideal for professionals, who can combine strong technical delivery with business consulting, stakeholder engagement, and enterprise transformation leadership across modern data platforms and cloud ecosystems.
Your day-to-day could include
- Collaborate closely with senior business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to understand strategic objectives, translate business requirements into scalable data solutions, and deliver outcomes aligned to enterprise priorities.
- Lead client workshops, discovery sessions, and stakeholder engagements, communicating complex technical concepts in a business-focused and outcome-driven way.
- Support enterprise-wide data transformation initiatives, helping organisations modernise data capabilities, improve governance, and enable scalable analytics platforms.
- Provide technical leadership across data engineering engagements, coordinating delivery activities, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to high-quality project execution.
- Monitor and improve data quality by designing and implementing automated validation rules, performing ongoing data profiling, and executing data cleansing routines to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously refine comprehensive documentation covering data pipelines, data models, solution architecture, and end-to-end data flows to support transparency, scalability, and knowledge sharing.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data pipeline failures, integration issues, and system performance bottlenecks, ensuring high availability and optimal performance across data platforms.
- Proactively evaluate and adopt emerging Azure data services, industry best practices, and modern engineering patterns to enhance platform capability, security, and efficiency.
- Implement CI/CD practices and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform/Bicep) for deploying and maintaining scalable data infrastructure.
- Design and optimise data pipelines using Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Fabric, Databricks, or equivalents such as Snowflake.
- Ensure data governance by enforcing metadata standards, lineage tracking, and access controls.
- Contribute to solution design, estimation, and delivery planning activities for complex enterprise data engagements.
Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Data Engineering, Data & Analytics, or Technical Consulting, ideally within a professional services environment.
- Experience contributing to enterprise data transformation initiatives, including cloud modernisation, governance uplift, and analytics enablement.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and consulting skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and business outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including mentoring team members, coordinating delivery activities, and working across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience designing and optimising scalable Azure data solutions using services such as Azure Data Factory, Fabric, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience with data governance and metadata management tools such as Microsoft Purview, Informatica, or Collibra.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Spark, with experience in CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps).
- Strong understanding of modern data architectures, including lakehouse, event-driven, and ETL-based patterns.
- Exposure to AI, advanced analytics, or emerging cloud technologies is desirable.
- Experience on enterprise transformation initiatives is highly desirable.
