About the Company
Tend is building a 100 year Kiwi owned healthcare company for future generations. Their purpose is to help New Zealanders become the healthiest people in the world. With 25 primary care clinics in their network, they will be growing to 90+ with the anticipated completion of a major acquisition.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will own Tend’s core finance operations, compliance, reporting, and close processes. This role is critical in enabling the CFO to focus on strategic and commercial priorities by ensuring the finance function operates with discipline, reliability and scalability.
This is not a steady-state controller role. Tend is looking for someone excited by building capability, improving processes, and creating a finance operating platform that can scale with the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the month-end close and consolidation across the group
- Lead Tend’s first external audit end-to-end, compliant with IFRS and public entity standards
- Manage statutory reporting and tax compliance obligations including R&D tax incentive
- Oversee payroll, AP, AR, treasury, and transactional accounting
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital across a business with meaningful intra-month cash flow swings
- Drive more mature and effective use of NetSuite and standardise processes across clinics
- Support integration of acquired clinics into Tend’s finance and reporting environment
- Lead and develop a growing finance operations team
Key Skills And Experience Required
- CA qualified with proven experience leading teams in complex operational environments, ideally multi-site
- Track record of delivering reliable reporting to tight deadlines
- Strong systems capability and comfort working in evolving ERP environments
- Exposure to acquisitions and integration an advantage
- Operationally rock solid, highly organised and dependable
