Ko tō tūranga – your role
As Trade Experience Lead, you will shape how One NZ shows up in market across our retail and partner channels by turning brand, product, and marketing activity into compelling customer-facing execution. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on driving trade performance, creating standout store and channel experiences, and ensuring promotions, merchandising, and store environments are delivered with pace, consistency, and commercial intent.
Working across owned retail, partner channels, and digital touchpoints, you will lead the planning and execution of trade activity that lifts conversion, attachment, and customer engagement. This role is ideal for a commercially minded retail leader who thrives on bringing strategy to life, building strong partnerships, and delivering measurable results through excellent execution, team leadership, and continuous improvement.
Ko Tō Mahi – What You’ll Do
- Lead the Trade Experience function, providing direction and oversight across store fit-outs, trade promotions, product launches, and retail merchandising
- Shape the customer and sales experience across One NZ’s trading environments to maximise commercial performance
- Lead store development activity across owned and partner locations, including new builds, refurbishments, relocations, and fixture planning
- Set and maintain merchandising standards, planogram principles, and in-store presentation requirements to support strong customer flow and sales conversion
- Manage trade investment across Retail, MMR/FOC, and Partner channels, ensuring spend is prioritised and delivers strong commercial return
- Partner with Digital Sales & Operations to align physical and digital execution, campaign messaging, product visibility, and promotional activity
- Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver trade activity, launches, and store execution on time and to a high standard
- Drive continuous improvement and automation across trade planning, merchandising compliance, reporting, and channel readiness
- Monitor market trends, customer behaviour, competitor activity, and channel performance to inform future trade and store investment decisions
- Build strong supplier and agency relationships to ensure delivery to scope, quality, budget, and timeline
Na Tōu Rourou - What You’ll Bring
- Significant experience in retail trade marketing, trading execution, visual merchandising, or retail commercial delivery, ideally within telecommunications, consumer electronics, or a fast-paced multi-channel retail environment
- Strong understanding of retail trading rhythms, promotional planning, campaign execution, and post-campaign review
- Experience in store design, fit-outs, merchandising standards, planograms, and customer flow, with an understanding of how physical space drives sales performance
- Proven ability to translate brand, product, and marketing strategy into effective channel execution across owned stores, partner channels, and digital touchpoints
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to connect trade activity and store experience to revenue, conversion, attachment, and ROI
- Experience managing budgets, supplier spend, and commercial prioritisation, with a focus on value and return on investment
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and external suppliers across trade marketing, merchandising, and store execution
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills, with the confidence to influence across a wide range of internal and external partners
- A forward-thinking mindset, with the ability to spot opportunities to simplify processes, improve ways of working, and unlock better results
