We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chefs to join our team in Tauranga. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing and presenting authentic Indian cuisine, including traditional curry and tandoori dishes, while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
Key responsibilities
To prepare and present Indian Curry and/or Tandoori Cuisines.
Meet the varied dietary requirements of the customers
Overall responsibility for the section's daily operations - Tandoori or Curry
Able to make traditional Indian cuisines and present them in accordance with menu
requirements
Planning and preparing menus and help in estimating cost
Creating new dishes and recipes as per the requirements of the business
Balances nutritional value of menus and ensures the quality
Make good estimations of raw material required and the cost involved
Set up work place in accordance to the business level and keep stocked for service
Ordering requests for purchasing and maintain inventory
Ensuring correct stock rotation procedures are followed
Make sure orders are filled correctly
Ensure the delivers of supplies and ingredients are fresh
Discuss with the Manager of improvements required for the growth of the business
Handling customer problems and complaints with respect to food
Able to work flexible hours at cover up large orders and catering
To preserve the food and freeze them as required
Ensure that all equipment’s are kept clean
Follow the maintenance and health and safety issues
Maintaining impeccable personal hygiene as well as high work and safety standards in the
work place
Delegating and supervising to Kitchen staff
Train and mentor junior staff
To do such other duties as the Restaurant Manager or business owner from time to time
Details of the job
Work hours - 30 hours per week,
Wages- $24.0 per hr,
Location of work – Tauranga

Requirements of the position
Hold 3 years of relevant work experience or diploma in cookery level 4 qualification.
It will be good to hold the knowledge of curry and tandoori dishes.
Be flexible to work daily split shifts (Lunch & dinner), weekends and public holidays
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
Training will be provided to the right person if needed.
