About The Role

We're looking for Senior Machine Learning Experts to author high-fidelity reasoning traces — the structured, step-by-step records of how an AI thinks through complex real-world tasks.

This isn't annotation work. This is architecture-level thinking applied to one of the hardest problems in AI: teaching models to reason reliably. If you understand how LLMs work under the hood and can decompose sophisticated problems into clear, logical steps, this role was built for you.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. Work on your schedule, from anywhere.

What You'll Do

• Author complex, high-fidelity reasoning traces that capture step-by-step planning, tool use, and decision-making for sophisticated technical tasks
• Design data strategies that help LLMs navigate intricate real-world scenarios with greater reliability
• Review and mentor structured traces to ensure optimal documentation of planning and tool-use sequences
• Apply senior-level architectural insight to ensure traces reflect sound, verifiable model decision-making
• Collaborate asynchronously with a global team working at the frontier of AI development

Who You Are

• Deeply experienced in machine learning, AI systems, or a closely related technical field
• Able to decompose complex, multi-step problems into clear, logical, and well-documented processes
• Familiar with LLM evaluation methodologies, training pipelines, or model behavior analysis
• Naturally rigorous — you think in systems, catch edge cases, and document your reasoning precisely
• Comfortable working independently and asynchronously without hand-holding

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality pipelines, or AI evaluation systems
• Top-tier Kaggle results (Grandmaster or Master level) demonstrating elite model performance and feature engineering skills
• Experience with RLHF, chain-of-thought prompting, or agent-based LLM frameworks
• Background in AI safety, interpretability, or alignment research
