Our Product Governance & Capability team sits within Personal Banking and is responsible for product governance, compliance and capability across our product portfolio. This includes ownership of product management frameworks, assurance and monitoring activities, and continuous uplift of product conduct and governance practices.

We’re excited to offer 2 opportunities to join our team as a Product Manager:

  • 1x Permanent
  • 1x 12-month secondment/fixed term contract

As Product Manager – Good Customer Outcomes (GCO), Governance & Compliance, you will support the Senior Product Managers and Head of Product Governance & Capability to deliver strong product governance, conduct and compliance outcomes across Personal Banking.

We are hiring for two opportunities within the team — one permanent role and one 12-month secondment / fixed-term contract.

You Will Play a Key Role In

  • Supporting end‑to‑end product governance and compliance activities across the product lifecycle
  • Leading and contributing to product risk, control and assurance activities, including in‑life monitoring and oversight of product reviews
  • Partnering closely with Product, Risk and Remediation teams to identify, assess and manage product‑related risks, issues and control gaps, ensuring timely remediation and appropriate escalation
  • Providing expert conduct and product risk advice to Product Managers and stakeholders, including supporting regulatory and supervisory engagements
  • Supporting data‑driven insights and analytics to inform monitoring, reporting, forecasting and conduct improvement opportunities
  • Maintaining high‑quality product, process and control documentation, including key decisions and rationale

As part of the wider Product team, you will also contribute to building excellence in our Product craft, supporting a continuous learning culture and sharing knowledge across the team.

You bring a strong customer‑centric mindset and are comfortable working at the intersection of product, governance, risk and compliance.

You Will Ideally Have

  • Experience in product management, governance, risk, compliance or assurance, ideally within financial services
  • A solid understanding of retail banking products and the New Zealand regulatory and legislative environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document decisions, risks and outcomes
  • Analytical capability to interpret data, identify insights and recommend practical improvements
  • A collaborative, pragmatic and curious approach, with a focus on continuous improvement

This role may also suit candidates from audit, governance or compliance backgrounds who are passionate about delivering great customer outcomes.
