We're looking for an experienced ITS Fibre Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and fault response of fibre and communications systems across key transport infrastructure.

This is a hands-on field role working on fibre optic networks, ITS communications systems, and roadside infrastructure, where your work directly supports the safe and efficient movement of people and freight.

No two days are the same, and your work directly supports safer, smarter transport networks across Auckland.

Your Day to Day will include

  • Install, maintain, and fault-find fibre optic and communications systems
  • Respond to network faults and restore services within required timeframes
  • Carry out splicing, testing, and commissioning of fibre networks
  • Work on ITS and transport communication infrastructure
  • Complete accurate job records, testing results, and documentation
  • Support safe, compliant, and high-quality field delivery
  • Work collaboratively with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Experience in fibre optic or telecommunications networks (essential)
  • Competent in fibre testing, splicing, and fault-finding
  • Ability to read plans and work independently in the field
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Full NZ driver's licence
  • Level 3 NZQA Telecommunications (or equivalent) preferred

You're a practical, safety-focused technician with solid field experience in fibre or telecommunications.

  • Experience in fibre optic or telecommunications networks (essential)
  • Competent in fibre testing, splicing, and fault-finding
  • Ability to read plans and work independently in the field
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Full NZ driver's licence
  • Level 3 NZQA Telecommunications (or equivalent) preferred
