We're looking for a dedicated Advisor Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) to join our friendly, focussed, and supportive HSW team in our People and Culture Group. This permanent, full-time role is based in our office in Cuba Mall, Wellington.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing, you will support the management of health, safety and wellbeing within Greater Wellington. You will be actively involved in ensuring Greater Wellington has systems and processes to be compliant with current best practice by implementing HSW practices and initiatives. On a day-to-day basis you will monitor the HSW system, provide advice on risk management, contribute to programmes of work and support regular reporting.
Building and developing trusted relationships is key. You will bring a naturally curious approach and your ability to use coaching and influencing skills to build and increase HSW capacity and capability across Greater Wellington.
Skills and experience required
You will be a solution focussed advisor with a solid two to three years' practical experience in a HSW role. You will have a good working of knowledge of HSW legislation and best practice and ideally have, or be working towards, a recognised HSW qualification.
To be successful you will need to:-
- Have an excellent writing ability with experience producing papers and reports along with a clear communication style and the ability to provide evidence based advise.
- Apply good time management skills and be comfortable working independently and as part of a team. You can adapt, prioritise your work and easily pivot to meet changing demands.
- Bring a solid working knowledge and practical application of HSW risk practices.
- Develop highly effective relationships, internally and externally as a trusted advisor.
- Engage with workers to effectively coach and influence change to improve HSW practice and outcomes across all levels of the business.

The remuneration for this position, inclusive of all benefits, is $78,289 to $117,434, with a midpoint of $97,861. Starting remuneration will depend on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
