Our Patient Services Department is responsible for the collection of blood samples and handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, urine, tissue etc from patients within the community and the hospital. These samples are then processed and tested in our state-of-the-art medical laboratory.
About the role | Mō te tūranga:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Phlebotomist to join our Patient Services Department in a permanent, full-time role of 80 hours per fortnight, based in Auckland. This position will support services across ADHB Cluster 2A: Panmure, Glen Innes, Greenlane, St Heliers, Meadowbank, Mercy Hospital, Ascot Hospital and Remuera and CMDHB Cluster 1B: Manurewa, Clendon, Manukau, Māngere and Onehunga.

You will work as part of a professional and collaborative team, providing a calm, caring, and efficient service to patients while ensuring the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- The key tasks include blood collection, responsible for handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, and tissue, and preparing specimens for transportation.
- Provide professional customer service, and serve as a link between health professionals, their patients, and the laboratory.

- Good computer skills.
- Registration with the Medical Science Council and an Annual Practising Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Technician is essential
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
