Afternoon Producer
New Zealand Media & Entertainment (NZME)
Newstalk ZB is looking for a sharp, driven producer to lead our Afternoons Show with Matt Heath & Tyler Adams. You’ll set the show’s agenda and create compelling radio that keeps listeners engaged.
This role goes well beyond just booking interviews. You will:
- Turn the day’s biggest stories into must-listen radio, responding quickly as news breaks.
- Create talkback that challenges, informs and entertains.
- Produce compelling content that keeps listeners tuned in.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Has a strong understanding of current affairs in New Zealand and abroad.
- Can think quickly and respond decisively in the fast-moving environment of live radio.
- Brings fresh ideas, performs well under pressure and trusts their editorial judgement.
- Is collaborative, open to feedback and eager to grow.
In return, you’ll join a supportive, high-performing environment and work alongside some of the best broadcasters, news makers and producers in the country.
Production experience is helpful, but not essential. What matters most is a strong journalism background, a passion for broadcasting, and the drive to make great radio.
All applicants will be asked about their working rights in New Zealand - i.e. resident, visa etc.
