About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Maintenance Planner to join our Grange Motel. As Maintenance Planner, you will play a crucial role in advancing the planning, scheduling of maintenance activities. You will ensure that motel facilities, guest rooms, and site equipment operate efficiently and safely, playing a vital part in delivering an exceptional experience for our guests.

Candidates are required to work a minimum of 30 hours and up to 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

From time to time, the candidate may be required to work additional hours beyond 40 hours per week to meet operational requirements. Any approved hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week will be paid at the hourly rate. Overtime will not exceed 8 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for motel buildings, guest accommodation units, equipment, grounds, and common areas.

Plan, schedule, and prioritise maintenance activities to maximise operational efficiency, minimise guest disruption, and ensure timely completion of maintenance works.

Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, facilities, landscaping, parking areas and building assets to identify maintenance requirements, operational risks, and potential hazards.

Manage maintenance and repair activities, including building repairs, painting, refurbishment, grounds maintenance, and property upkeep, ensuring work is completed to required quality standards.

Coordinate external contractors, service providers, and suppliers for specialised maintenance, servicing, and repair works.

Ensure compliance with New Zealand Health and Safety regulations, motel policies and implement corrective actions where required.

Maintain maintenance schedules, inspection records and maintenance histories to support effective facility and asset management.

Monitor maintenance costs, asset condition, and contractor performance, and recommend improvements to enhance property presentation and long-term maintenance outcomes.

Pay

We offer a pay rate between $30 per hour – $33 per hour for ordinary working hours and same pay rate for overtime.

Qualification and Experience

NZ Diploma or higher, or 3 years’ of relevant work experience.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.

Hold a current full New Zealand driver license.
