Regional Leadership Opportunities – Geotechnics & Tunnels

Locations: Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch

We’re looking for senior leaders to shape the future of our Geotechnics & Tunnels capability across New Zealand.

These are pivotal roles where you’ll combine people leadership, client engagement, and technical delivery to drive regional success while contributing to a nationally integrated business.

You’ll lead a high-performing Earth team including geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, and risk & resilience specialists—ensuring strong performance, connected ways of working, and exceptional client outcomes.

Drive Performance & Delivery

• Lead regional operations to deliver strong commercial and project outcomes
• Oversee project performance, ensuring quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction
• Optimise resourcing and utilisation across multiple projects and teams
• Identify risks early and take action to protect delivery and client outcomes

Grow Clients & Opportunities

• Build and strengthen key client relationships within your region
• Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of work aligned to national priorities
• Contribute to strategic pursuits and win new business
• Ensure consistent, high-quality client experiences across all projects

Lead & Develop People

• Create a high-performing, collaborative culture where people thrive
• Lead, coach, and develop technical professionals and emerging leaders
• Provide clear expectations, recognition, and accountability
• Support attraction and retention of top talent

Collaborate Nationally & Globally

• Operate as part of a national leadership team, aligning with strategy and standards
• Enable effective work sharing across regions
• Leverage global capability, including our Global Capability Centre (GCC)

Stay Close to Technical Delivery

• Maintain an active role in projects as Project Director, Manager, or technical specialist
• Apply your expertise to solve complex geotechnical challenges
• Represent the business within industry groups and professional forums

About You

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, or similar
• Professional registration (or working towards it)
• 10+ years’ experience in geotechnics, tunnels, or related fields
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams (5+ years)
• Strong project delivery and commercial acumen
• Experience in business development and client relationship management
• Passion for developing people and building high-performing teams
