At ASB, we’re all about helping our customers get one step ahead. We’re looking for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst – Insights to join our Credit Risk Management team, supporting Home Lending and SME portfolios through meaningful data and analytics.

Te tūranga | The role

In this role, you’ll use data and analytics to monitor, support and continually optimise credit risk strategy and implementation across Home Lending and SME.

You’ll partner closely with stakeholders across Risk, front line teams, and product squads—playing a key role in delivering insights that influence lending decisions and improve outcomes for our customers.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate, insightful analysis to help answer business questions and solve problems using lending data
  • Translate complex credit risk concepts into clear, practical insights and recommendations
  • Build strong relationships across Risk, product squads, and key stakeholders to understand end-to-end lending processes
  • Provide reporting, analysis, and recommendations (including papers for senior leadership) to support informed decision-making
  • Continuously improve analytical outputs, including automation, efficiency, and data quality practices
  • Contribute to projects through data support, testing, and insights delivery
  • Take ownership of problem-solving—going beyond your immediate expertise where required

  • Strong experience in retail credit risk management
  • Excellent analytical capability, with a structured approach to problem-solving and insight generation
  • Confident communicator—able to present complex insights clearly to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of retail lending products (home loans, credit cards, personal loans, SME)
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
  • High levels of organisation, prioritisation, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in tools such as SAS, SQL, Snowflake or Databricks, and visualisation tools like Tableau or Power BI
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a numerate or business-related field
