About the role

Payments Tribe provides secure environment enabling superior payment experiences to empower our customers with trusted payments. This role sits within Cross-border domain in Payments Tribe which supports and modernizes our critical international payment systems and services, to ensure we meet best practice and our ongoing customer demand.

As a Software Specialist – Technical Analysis, you will play a leading role in shaping and delivering high-quality solutions by bridging business needs and technical implementation. You will work closely with engineering squads, CXOs and stakeholders to define, refine, and manage requirements for complex payments initiatives.

This is a hands-on role focused on business and technical analysis, where you will take ownership of requirements, contribute to solution design, and ensure clarity and alignment across delivery.

You’ll be part of a team on the forefront of working to deliver and support a secure, functional and performant ecosystem to our customers. We advocate agile, fully cross functional squads which will take you through all facets of engineering in any given day. We are looking for a mix of technical and non-technical skills to support the following activities:

  • Eliciting, analysing and documenting business and technical requirements
  • Writing clear and structured user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting artefacts
  • Working closely with CXOs and stakeholders to refine backlog items
  • Supporting squads with solution analysis and clarification throughout delivery
  • Translating business needs into technical requirements and implementation-ready artefacts
  • Collaborating with engineers and testers to ensure shared understanding of requirements
  • Reviewing and validating delivered functionality against business expectations
  • Supporting test case and scenario reviews to ensure alignment with requirements
  • Performing data analysis and validation (including SQL where required)
  • Managing stakeholder expectations and ensuring alignment across teams
  • Contributing to delivery of regulatory and compliance-driven initiatives

About you

We are looking for someone who can comfortably operate at a senior to lead level in business and technical analysis, with strong domain awareness and the ability to work in complex delivery environments. Candidates with deep payments domain expertise (including payments operations or system support) who can apply strong analytical thinking and translate business problems into clear requirements will also be considered. You’ll bring:

  • Strong experience in business analysis and/or technical analysis within Agile environments
  • Payment’s domain experience, preferably cross-border payments
  • Proven ability to gather, refine, and manage requirements for complex systems
  • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and structured documentation
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability
  • Experience working closely with engineering squads and product owners (CXOs)
  • Good understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and validation
  • Ability to work across both business and technical contexts effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and structured approach to work

In addition, the following would be an advantage:

  • Experience in banking or financial services
  • Experience working on regulatory or compliance-driven initiatives
  • Exposure to ISO 20022 or international payments standards
  • Experience in payment operations, payment system support, or related roles
  • Understanding of DevOps / SDLC concepts at a high level
