ROLE SUMMARY

ACG Penguins is spacious and modern Early Learning Centre located at the heart of the Howick community. The team is forward-focused, innovative and passionate about delivering quality education and care. Our students are at the heart of everything we do!

We are looking for a qualified ECE teacher who is passionate in supporting young children in their learning and development. You should be confident in Te Whariki curriculum making links to this document in your assessment. This position is a parental leave cover and is due to commence August 2026 and will finish in August 2027, part-time hours (32 per week) apply to this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach early childhood learning, ensuring you create an engaging learning environment.
  • Cater to the varied learning needs and abilities of the children.
  • Develop excellent relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Play based learning environment with a focus on transition to school.
  • Participate in wider school activities.
  • Ensure children's welfare and safety in every moment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute fresh ideas

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in planning and delivering early childhood educational programs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with parents, colleagues, and leadership.
  • Ability to reflect, evaluate, and adapt teaching practices based on observations and assessments.
  • Experience in using digital technology for documentation and parent communication.
  • NZ Teacher registration with supporting teaching qualifications (BA and/or MBA).
