NZ Post Express offers same day urgent courier services across town or nationwide. It's exciting and fast paced, where meeting the urgent requirements of our customers in a time critical way is key, and each day is different from the next.
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Join our Express business as an operational Service Delivery Manager, based in our Waikato Operations Centre in Hamilton. Reporting through to the National Express Manager, you'll be responsible for leading our team of dispatchers, Delivery Partners and their Authorised Drivers.
Working closely with your counterparts in fleet and operations to ensure things go smoothly day to day, you'll oversee the daily activities, including managing a small team of dispatchers (who work a variety of shifts) to ensure their success, including making sure they receive the right training and knowledge to do their jobs effectively.
You'll also be responsible for regular customer, fleet and financial reporting, so knowing your way around Excel will be key.
This role typically works Monday to Friday, however, this role would suit someone who is flexible to work a combination of early mornings and late afternoons as the role requires. At times, there might be travel to Auckland or Tauranga.

You'll combine this with
- The ability to influence and engage at a variety of levels
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills
- Solid commercial acumen, including budgets, financials and analytical skills
- A pragmatic approach
- A healthy dose of common sense and logic
- Solid knowledge of Excel for reporting purposes, including comfort with pivot tables and look ups
Experience in the transport or logistics would definitely help you hit the ground running in this role, but not essential provided you are willing and eager to learn.
