About Gallagher

We've been innovating since 1938, and today our Animal Management business continues to push the boundaries of what's possible in agriculture. Through our New Ventures team, we're exploring new technologies, connected ecosystems and data-driven solutions that help farmers operate more efficiently, sustainably and profitably.

The work we do doesn't stay on a roadmap or in a lab. It ends up in the hands of customers around the world, solving real problems and changing how they work every day. It's technology with a tangible impact, backed by the stability, scale and global reach of Gallagher.

The Opportunity

Join Gallagher's New Ventures team, where we're building the next generation of connected technology solutions for agriculture.

This Full Stack Software Engineer role sits within our R&D function and plays a key part in designing, developing and evolving the software platforms that power innovative products across our Animal Management portfolio. You'll work closely with Product, Design, Data and Engineering specialists to create scalable cloud-based applications, connected ecosystems and customer-facing experiences that deliver real-world impact.

Operating within a venture-style environment, you'll have the opportunity to influence technical direction, contribute to architectural decisions and work on emerging technologies including cloud platforms, AI-assisted development tools, IoT and data-driven applications.

This is a role where you'll see the direct impact of your work, move quickly from idea to implementation, and help shape the future of agricultural technology.

The Fit

You're the type of engineer who enjoys building things that matter.

You thrive in environments where there's ambiguity to navigate, complex problems to solve and opportunities to influence outcomes. You're comfortable taking ownership, working collaboratively and turning ideas into practical solutions.

You'll be joining a team that values progress over perfection, open communication and continuous improvement. We move quickly, learn from real-world feedback and aren't afraid to challenge ideas when it leads to better outcomes.

We're looking for someone who is curious, resourceful and excited by the opportunity to help shape products that are pushing the boundaries of what's possible in agriculture.

We're office-first because we believe the best ideas are built through collaboration, shared learning and working closely together as a team.

To Succeed In This Role You'll Also Bring

  • Commercial software development experience, with strong full stack capability across modern web technologies.
  • Experience designing and building scalable cloud-based applications and services.
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, databases and modern software engineering practices, including CI/CD.
  • A pragmatic problem-solving approach, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with a willingness to contribute beyond your immediate area of expertise.
  • Experience with AWS, AI-assisted development tools, IoT or data-intensive applications would be highly regarded.
