The Electoral Commission is seeking a detail-focused and reliable Enrolment Processing Officer to support the integrity and accuracy of the electoral roll through the processing of enrolment applications.

You will be part of a supportive and dedicated team delivering interesting and varied work. You will be contributing to the smooth operation of enrolment services by processing enrolment applications, maintaining high-quality data, and supporting administrative functions. While some tasks may be repetitive, they will require your investigative and analytical skills. You'll be comfortable following processes and play an important part in ensuring electoral information is accurate, secure, and managed in line with legislation and Commission standards.

This is a fixed term role until November 2026, and the salary is $61,550 per annum.

You must be available to travel daily to The Terrace, Wellington.

  • Process online and paper-based enrolment transactions, manage enrolment mail, and support administrative functions to ensure smooth operations.
  • Validate and cleanse electoral roll data, carry out quality assurance checks, and ensure compliance with legal and policy requirements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and manage elector information in line with the Privacy Act and Commission policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and service delivery while supporting a collaborative and positive team environment.

  • Experience in administration or data processing roles

  • Sound problem-solving skills and judgement, with the ability to balance detail and the bigger picture.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Confidence using computer systems and applications beyond standard office tools. E.g. land records or similar.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and show initiative.
  • A commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and public service.
