Security Officer

Red Badge Group is New Zealand’s leading independent security and customer management provider. We’re looking for professional, reliable Security Officers to join our teams.

This is a part-time permanent role, 0945-1415 Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

You’ll be a visible and approachable security presence, responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. Duties may vary by site but can include:

• Providing frontline security and customer service
• Patrolling sites and monitoring behaviour and activity
• Responding to incidents calmly, professionally, and in line with procedures
• De‑escalation and conflict management, including high‑risk situations where required
• Access control and monitoring of restricted areas
• Accurate incident reporting and communication with site contacts
• Working collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and emergency services

About you

This role suits a dependable, observant person who remains calm under pressure. You should be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.

• Previous experience in guarding, security, or a customer‑facing protective role is preferred
• Strong situational awareness, observation and decision‑making abilities
• Good written and verbal communication with accurate report‑writing skills
• Basic IT competency for shift handover logs and incident reporting systems
• Reliable, punctual and able to work a roster that is required
• Hold, or be able to obtain, a current New Zealand COA (Certificate of Approval) security license
• Eligible to work in New Zealand and at least 18 years of age
• Clear criminal conviction record or able to meet company vetting standards
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity
