Advisor - Procurement Practises

We're partnering with the New Zealand Defence Force to recruit an Advisor - Procurement Practices to join the Centre of Excellence within Defence Commercial Services. This is a centre-led advisory role where you'll help improve consistency, capability, and compliance across procurement activity-working closely with teams to embed good practice and support better outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Support procurement teams with processes, templates, and Government Procurement Rules
- Provide day-to-day practical procurement advice across NZDF
- Help build capability through training, workshops, and guidance materials
- Support consistent, compliant procurement delivery across teams
- Contribute to assurance, documentation, and continuous improvement activities
- Help identify risks, gaps, and opportunities to improve practice
You'll bring:
- 2-5 years' procurement or commercial experience
- Strong understanding of procurement processes (public sector experience desirable)
- A collaborative, helpful, and stakeholder-focused approach
- Good judgement, attention to detail, and strong organisation skills
- A willingness to learn and develop capability in others
- Confidence working in structured, governed environments
