Laboratory Analyst

About the role

We are on the lookout for an experienced Laboratory Analyst to join our Chemistry team. This is an exciting chance to step into a key role where you will support specialised laboratory testing, while also assisting with method development projects currently underway.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team contributing to the delivery of high-quality analytical results that support the wider business. You will be an analytically minded and detail-oriented person who can adapt depending on the needs of the business. If you have the ability to communicate scientific ideas and concepts accurately and succinctly and have experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory, then this is the role for you.

The main responsibilities of this role include:

• BAU testing of milk and milk powder products.
• Routine maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical testing equipment.
• Training others on analytical methods.
• Maintaining and tracking stocked consumables for testing.
• Assist the laboratory technical team with method development.
• Identify improvements to assist laboratory with continuous improvement projects.

Skills And Experience

You will ideally have previous experience within chemistry testing however we can provide further support to upskill you.

• Degree in Chemistry (or equivalent) is preferred.
• Experience working in an ISO17025 laboratory and dairy testing is preferred but not required.
• Experience in working with two of the following analytical instruments: HPLC, GD-FID, LCMS-MS, ICP-MS.
• Strong computer skills with experience in using Microsoft Power Suite and LIMs.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and regularly meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment.
