Senior Occupational Therapist

The Rehabilitation team located in The Granada Centre at St John of God Halswell is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative environment, helping people with a wide range of neurological impairments to achieve meaningful goals and maximise independence.

You will work alongside experienced allied health professionals, nursing staff and medical practitioners to deliver high quality, person-centred rehabilitation. The role offers variety, autonomy and the chance to contribute to service development within a dynamic rehabilitation setting.

This is a full-time permanent position offering an exciting opportunity to work across several areas of rehabilitation and residential care within a supportive interdisciplinary team.

The role has several key strands including:

  • Contributing to the development and delivery of our new residential traumatic brain injury (TBI) rehabilitation service.
  • Delivering transitional rehabilitation programmes for clients with neurological conditions.
  • Supporting our long-term residential clients in their occupational choices and with their equipment needs.

You will work with clients presenting with a variety of functional difficulties, cognitive impairments and psychosocial factors, providing assessment, treatment, education and rehabilitation planning tailored to individual goals.

About You

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist with a minimum of three years clinical experience, including experience working with people with neurological conditions, particularly traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Applicants must

  • Be a New Zealand Citizen or resident or hold a current relevant work visa.
  • Have a current NZ Occupational Therapy practicing certificate.
  • Hold a current full driving license.
