Design Engagement Lead

Fisher & Paykel Appliances

The Role

Fisher & Paykel is one of New Zealand's best-known brands, a global company with a strong heritage and ambitious plans. Our New Zealand origins, curious nature, and passion to develop luxury products designed around people are core elements that make us unique. Driven by our brand values of being real, generous, curious, and sustainably minded, we take a collaborative approach, champion ideas, and are united in our goal to be the world's most human-centred, #1 premium appliance brand.

We are entering an exciting new phase in the evolution of our luxury brand as we expand our presence across Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland into a state-of-the-art three-site campus. Connected across the Auckland isthmus, our campus sites combine to tell the story of our people, our brand, and our future legacy. At the heart of that story is our world-leading Global Experience Centre in Grey Lynn.

The Opportunity

Are you a commercially minded leader with passion for design and luxury brand experiences, who fosters exceptional client relationships, and inspires teams? Fisher & Paykel Appliances is seeking a talented Design Engagement Lead to join our Global Marketing team, based in Auckland, NZ.

This is a rare and exciting leadership opportunity to own the implementation of design engagement strategy across our region, leading a high-performing team of Design Development Managers (DDMs) and Experience Centre staff, while personally managing a portfolio of tier 1 Specifiers, Designers, and Architects (SDA). You will be the bridge between our global design engagement strategy and its regional execution, ensuring every touchpoint, from one-on-one client conversations to flagship Experience Centre events, reflects the Fisher & Paykel brand at its very best.

This Is Where You Come In

Reporting to the Head of Global Design Engagement, you will lead and develop your regional team as a single, cohesive unit, setting clear expectations, coaching individuals, and fostering a culture that is collaborative, proactive, and outcome focused. At the same time, you will personally model the consultative engagement approach you expect of your team, maintaining a direct portfolio of tier 1 SDA relationships and driving brand engagement and specification outcomes with discipline and intent.

You will oversee the Auckland Experience Centre as Fisher & Paykel's flagship luxury brand environment, ensuring every interaction, whether an intimate SDA engagement, a developer visit, or an international stakeholder event, reinforces our design-led positioning and builds long-term loyalty. Working closely with local and global marketing and sales teams, you will translate strategy into clear regional execution plans with measurable commercial outcomes, leveraging our Design Engagement toolkit, Salesforce, and Programa platforms to drive consistency, quality, and rigour across the team.

Staying current with design, architecture, and specification trends will be central to how you sharpen your team's engagement approach and maintain your own authoritative voice in conversations with SDA audiences.

What We're Looking For

You are an experienced leader who is equally comfortable setting strategic direction and rolling up your sleeves to do the work. You bring proven capability in managing high-value client relationships in a luxury or design-adjacent environment, along with strong commercial acumen and a genuine appreciation for design and architecture. You have the communication skills to tailor your style across designers, consumers, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership, and the project and event management experience to keep multiple priorities moving simultaneously.

You will manage & deliver an outstanding customer experience to all guests visiting the Fisher & Paykel Experience Centre, with the primary goal of building brand advocacy. You’ll be responsible for staffing, administration, operational, budgetary & reporting activities within the Centre.

Ideally, you will have an understanding of the design and architecture industry, the ability to read floor plans and elevations, and experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools. A relevant bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Design, Architecture, or a related field is desirable, though equivalent hands-on experience in a similar leadership role will also be considered.

What We Offer

We can give you the rare opportunity to step into a large, complex global organisation headquartered in New Zealand, where you will gain wide exposure across the business and play a meaningful role in shaping how one of NZ's most trusted brands shows up in the design and architecture community. This role offers diverse and exciting challenges alongside the chance to continually grow and develop as a leader.

Along with a competitive salary, flexible working, and excellent growth and progression opportunities, as a valued member of our team you will enjoy generous discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier products, life and disability insurance, discounted medical cover, access to our leading Whānau/Family leave offering, our subsidised staff café, and free car parking when on-site.

All this, coupled with great leadership and backed by a world-leading heritage brand consistently ranked as one of New Zealand's most Trusted Brands… year after year.
