Salary band & range: GSR Band F: $76,463 to $89,215 depending on skills and experience

About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga

Step into a dynamic role where you will design capability solutions that make a real impact across New Zealand's food safety system. You will bring together learning design, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory insight to create tools and resources that support effective practice. Working closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders, you will turn complex information into accessible and engaging content.

Your work will contribute to strengthening regulatory capability and supporting consistent, high-quality outcomes across the sector. You will also play a key part in delivering projects that enhance how capability is built and applied in practice. This is an exciting opportunity to combine creativity, influence, and delivery in a role that directly supports New Zealand's primary industries.

You will:

  • Develop tools and resources for regulatory capability
  • Design engaging learning, including e-learning programmes
  • Partner with verifiers, SMEs, and stakeholders
  • Use systems like LMS and content creation tools
  • Support projects that strengthen food safety outcomes

About You - Mōu

You are passionate about building capability and enjoy creating learning that makes a tangible difference. You bring experience in learning and development or capability building and can apply this in complex or regulated environments. You are confident working with a wide range of stakeholders and building relationships that support collaboration and shared outcomes.

You have an ability to simplify complex or technical information into clear, engaging content. You are organised and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality and delivering on time. An interest in the primary sector or food safety environment will support your success in this role and help you build credibility quickly.

You will bring:

  • Experience in adult learning or capability building
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
  • Ability to simplify complex information clearly
  • Experience using LMS or digital learning tools
  • Background in public or private sector environments

About the Team -

Mō tō mātou Rōpū

You will be part of a collaborative Capability team within Food Risk Management at New Zealand Food Safety. The team works closely together and with stakeholders across MPI and the wider sector to deliver practical, high-impact capability solutions.
