Heavy (Light acceptable) Vehicle Technician – New Vehicle Preparation | Scania New Zealand (Wiri)
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our team in Wiri, supporting the preparation and delivery of new Scania trucks.
This role is focused on the initial compliance and readiness of new vehicles, ensuring each truck is fully set up, safe, and operating according to Scania standards before handover to the customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out initial compliance checks on new vehicles
- Perform detailed inspections to ensure safety, quality, and correct configuration
- Complete Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) to the highest standard
- Install and configure vehicle accessories, requiring solid electrical knowledge
- Ensure all systems (mechanical and electrical) are functioning correctly before delivery
- While the primary focus is on new vehicle preparation, there may be occasional requirements to
- Support service and repair activities when needed
What We’re Looking For
- Ideally a qualified Heavy Diesel Technician with relevant experience
- We also welcome qualified Light Vehicle Technicians who are keen to transition into the heavy vehicle industry
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship
- Good understanding of electrical systems and accessory installation
- Ability to work safely and follow structured processes
Additional Advantages (Not Essential)
- Experience with wheel alignment
- Experience with windscreen fitting
- Class 4 driver licence
