About The Role

Are you a dynamic and commercially minded Event Professional looking for an exciting new opportunity in Auckland?

Spark Arena is one of New Zealand's most iconic live entertainment venues, and we're looking for an experienced events professional to step into the role of Event Services Manager. Reporting to the Head of Events, this is a senior role where you'll oversee end-to-end event execution, lead a team of Event Managers, and take ownership of ticketing operations across the venue.

This role sits at the intersection of event delivery and client experience, where every show matters and no two days look the same. If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and love the live events industry as much as we do, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now with your resume and a cover letter outlining why you're the perfect fit for this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Event delivery: Take hands-on ownership of the planning, coordination, and onsite execution of events at Spark Arena, ensuring every show exceeds expectations.
  • Team leadership: Lead and develop a team of two Event Managers, providing guidance, workload allocation, and ongoing support for growth.
  • Ticketing management: Oversee all on-sale requirements, daily sales monitoring, map builds via TM1, and post-event reporting in close partnership with Ticketmaster.
  • Client and stakeholder relations: Act as the key point of contact for promoters and hirers, building strong relationships and ensuring their needs are met at every touchpoint.
  • Front of house operations: Coordinate FOH requirements across security, ushering, ticketing, and patron ingress and egress to deliver a seamless audience experience.
  • Health and safety: Play a leading role in safety planning, risk management, and compliance across the venue, ensuring all staff, contractors, and patrons are covered.
  • Ticketing development: Collaborate with hirers to identify and maximise ancillary ticketing opportunities, pairing the right products with the right events.

What You’ll Bring

  • Event management experience: A solid background in live events or venue operations, with a track record of delivering large-scale events onsite.
  • Ticketing knowledge: Hands-on experience with ticketing systems, ideally Ticketmaster or TM1, with a strong understanding of on-sale strategy and reporting.
  • Leadership capability: Experience managing or mentoring a team, with the emotional intelligence to maintain morale in high-pressure situations.
  • Client focus: A natural relationship builder who goes above and beyond for hirers, promoters, and venue partners.
  • Commercial acumen: Strong financial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, staffing, and operational resources efficiently.
  • Health and safety commitment: A thorough understanding of safe work practices and relevant compliance requirements in a venue environment.
  • Flexibility and resilience: Comfortable working nights, weekends, and public holidays, with the focus and adaptability to perform in a dynamic live environment.

The Benefits

  • A vibrant, music-focused workplace fostering creativity and collaboration.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
  • A flexible approach to when and where you work, designed to support balance in all aspects of life.
  • Access to concerts, events, and other entertainment perks.
  • A diverse, equitable workplace where every voice matters.
  • Comprehensive benefits, from volunteer days to wellness programs and mental health support.
