Te Tūranga i The Role
The Content Scheduler is responsible for building and maintaining accurate, broadcast-ready schedules that deliver on Sky’s content plans across assigned channels and platforms. Working from Content Planner direction, the role integrates programming, promotional, and commercial elements within IBMS and related systems, ensuring alignment to channel formats, deadlines, and overall strategy.
The role collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners to coordinate inputs, resolve issues, and optimise outcomes, while managing late changes to minimise disruption. With a strong focus on detail and quality control, the Content Scheduler ensures schedules are on-air ready, maintains schedule integrity through stakeholder feedback, and supports seamless delivery alongside offshore teams, contributing to continuous improvement and a ‘right first time’ approach.
NGĀ HAEPAPA | ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates and delivers accurate, on-air-ready transmission schedules across assigned Sky channels and platforms
- Translates defined content plans into executable schedules, integrating programming, promotional, and commercial elements
- Builds and maintains schedules in IBMS, ensuring all content, promos, and advertising requirements are reflected and aligned to deadlines
- Uses IBMS, Landmark and related systems to support accurate commercial integration
- Works from Content Planner direction to ensure correct content placement in line with priorities and channel formats and strategy
- Maintains alignment with overall content strategy without owning its development
- Maximises promotional and commercial outcomes within scheduling constraints
- Manages late changes and resolves scheduling issues quickly to minimise disruption
- Actions feedback from On Air and other stakeholders to maintain schedule accuracy and integrity
- Coordinates inputs from Programming, Promotions, Ad Sales, Production, and other teams
- Collaborates closely with offshore teams to ensure seamless schedule delivery
- Ensures schedules are broadcast-ready through strong system usage, attention to detail, and quality control
- Liaise with Local and International channel and programme suppliers on a daily basis to ensure breaks are correctly scheduled and advertising and promotional opportunities are maximised
- Applies templates and channel formats consistently across services
- Contributes to continuous improvement and a 'right first time' approach
- Accurate and timely creation of metadata for all content
NGĀ PŪKENGA ME NGĀ WHEAKO | WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Previous Scheduling/television experience with some understanding of scheduling and basic understanding of the television industry would be an advantage
- Previous knowledge working with an automated scheduling system
- A good understanding of the impact of Programme formats on Productions, Commercial Revenue, Promotions and most importantly viewers
- A good understanding of common Sporting Codes and their impact on Television coverage
- Basic/Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Office in Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Knowledge of workflows related to the television environment
- Working understanding of Broadcast Standards Authority regulations and implications
