Village Coordinator & Receptionist to join our team at Waterford Village in Hobsonville.
This full-time position combines
25 hours per week as Village Coordinator and 15 hours per week in Reception, offering a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. As one of the key points of contact within the village, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming environment, supporting the day-to-day operations of the village, and helping residents enjoy a vibrant and fulfilling lifestyle.
What You'll Be Doing
Reception & Administration
- Be the welcoming face of the village for residents, visitors, contractors, and families.
- Provide professional and friendly customer service, creating a calm and positive experience for everyone who visits.
- Deliver high-quality administrative support to the Village Manager and wider village team.
- Assist with accounts payable, petty cash, supplier coordination, and general office administration.
- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of village services and facilities.
- Manage enquiries and resolve issues efficiently and professionally.
V
illage Coordination & Resident Engagement:
- Act as a key point of contact for residents, providing exceptional customer service and promptly addressing their needs.
- Work closely with the Village Manager to coordinate village activities, events, and operational tasks.
- Engage with residents daily, offering support and ensuring they feel connected, informed, and valued.
- Develop and deliver engaging activities and lifestyle programmes that encourage participation, wellbeing, and enjoyment.
- Organise group outings, social events, workshops, and community initiatives that foster a strong sense of community.
- Support residents to engage with technology, including the resident app and virtual events.
- Facilitate resident feedback through focus groups and other engagement opportunities.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, external providers, and community organisations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of village services, policies, and emergency procedures, ensuring residents and stakeholders are well informed.
What you'll bring
- Previous experience in a reception, administration, customer service, village, hospitality, or community-focused role.
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating positive experiences for others.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience with accounts payable, petty cash, and supplier administration would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish professional relationships with a wide range of people.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly within the Microsoft Office suite.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and adaptable in a busy environment.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Genuine empathy, patience, and respect when working with older people.
- The ability to adapt to new technologies, systems, and ways of working.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
