About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance

The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system.

The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity to lead our ASM projects team and make your mark on Auckland’s motorway network. As ASM Projects Manager you will oversee the design and delivery of engineering projects that fall outside our planned and scheduled works.

You will play a key role in ensuring that engineering improvements are managed and delivered to the highest professional standards, within expected timeframes and financial targets.

What you will be doing

As ASM Projects Manager, you will have a variety of responsibilities including:

• Overseeing engineering projects from design through delivery, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are met.
• Engaging with clients and key stakeholders, including coordinating with NZTA on programme integration.
• Prioritising health and safety by identifying risks early and maintaining strong safety standards.
• Managing project scoping, CAD design, safety reviews, procurement, and construction activities.
• Providing clear progress reporting and maintaining accurate project documentation.
• Supporting team capability by ensuring staff are well trained, particularly in safety‑critical areas.
• Driving efficient, cost‑effective project delivery through integrated decision‑making.

About you

You will have a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent qualification and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in project management, procurement, and contract supervision.
