Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi – About the Role
You will play an important role in the delivery and development of English language programmes for domestic and international students for whom English is an additional language. These programmes include the New Zealand Certificates in English Language, and short courses specifically for international students.
You will be able to create learning environments which are inclusive, culturally appropriate and encourage student participation and engagement. You will also be responsible for delivering assessment activities, making assessment decisions and engaging in internal and external moderation processes. You will work in a small team, including team members located at other campuses and locations, and will collaborate to deliver a programme to a consistent standard.
Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako – Skills and Experience
- Experience teaching English language to adults/young adults, preferably the NZ Certificate of English Language suite of qualifications
- A willingness and ability to contribute to the team culture of the English Portfolio.
- Vision, innovation and a commitment to facilitating own and others’ learning.
- Capable of supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes.
- The ability to develop and implement flexible teaching and learning methods, including the use of learning technologies.
- Time management skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently administer, organise and co-ordinate activities and meet deadlines.
- Engagement with assessment and feedback processes.
- Digital literacy including competence using Microsoft office products, learner management systems and other technology-based teaching and learning resources as required.
- Effective communication with a diverse range of people, at all levels within and outside the organisation.
