We are seeking a Senior Fire Alarm Technician ready to take the next step into project management, or a junior fire project manager with strong technical grounding, to join our Regional Projects Team based in Auckland.
In this role, you’ll play a critical part in delivering major and minor fire alarm projects, providing technical leadership and project oversight that directly supports our Auckland Alarm and Sprinkler project portfolio.
About The Role
As a Senior Fire Alarm Technician / Junior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end coordination and delivery of fire alarm projects, ensuring safety, quality, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, technicians, subcontractors, and clients—balancing hands‑on technical expertise with growing project management responsibilities.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, accountability, and visible impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate fire alarm project delivery across the region
- Supervise technicians, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure efficient labour utilisation and profitability
- Manage day‑to‑day project activities including scope, timelines, costs, and quality
- Assist with design reviews, technical scope definition, and compliance requirements
- Identify and manage variations to maximise contract outcomes
- Engage with clients to gather requirements, agree priorities, and communicate milestones
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and resource allocations
- Produce clear, concise project update reports for internal and external weekly reviews
- Proactively manage risks, issues, and critical path activities
- Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety and company standards
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Senior Fire Alarm Technician or early‑career Fire Project Manager
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, installations, and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to organise, plan, and manage project works
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Natural ability to multitask and remain effective in a fast‑paced environment
- Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with sound technical judgement
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Competency in Microsoft Office / Microsoft Suite (advantageous)
- Willingness to travel nationally on occasion
