Reporting into the Head of Marketing this permanent, full-time role is based at our Ellerslie head office, with regular travel to our South Auckland (Papakura) manufacturing site to build strong cross-functional relationships.

This Senior Brand Manager position has a significant role in driving the strategic direction and growth of our Griffin’s master brand. This role requires a seasoned marketer with a high level of innovation experience who is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market trends, consumer behaviour, and the competitive landscape.

You will be someone who can develop and leverage internal relationships across key functions to ensure delivery of key projects are to time, budget and business case targets.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Assisting with the development of strategy by proactively contributing key information and recommendations across the Griffin’s portfolio (biscuits and crackers)
  • Championing sub-brand portfolio audits and brand plan inputs to prioritise the key ‘jobs to be done’ covering all areas of the marketing mix.
  • Leading the development of a consumer insight driven and commercially sound innovation pipeline
  • Project management of NPD projects working closely with the NZ Innovation and Sales teams to deliver new products to time, budget, and business case targets.
  • Working closely with external partners on key projects to ensure timely delivery against well-defined briefs for: consumer research, packaging design, ATL communication (creative, media & PR)
  • Developing, tracking, and delivering your plan to hit agreed budget: market share, NSV & contribution margin targets.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, ideally with a major in Marketing
  • Relevant FMCG marketing experience with a minimum of 7 years of Brand Management experience.
  • Computer literate in MS Packages & scan data
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful brand strategies.
  • Excellent project management skills including end to end NPD experience from idea through to launch and execution in market.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative marketing solutions
  • Proficiency in digital marketing and social media platforms
  • Strong business acumen and be commercially minded.
  • Highly organised with effective planning and prioritising skills
  • Ability to problem solve with a proactive approach to the resolution/escalation of issues
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and relationship building skills, both with internal and external stakeholders
  • Resilience, positivity, and a solutions-focused approach
  • A real drive for results and able to work under pressure – yet able to have fun and a laugh with the team!
