Leading Hand
Downer
Remote
Lead the crew that keeps Auckland flowing. A hands-on drainage leadership role balancing planning, people and delivery.
Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
Not everyone is cut out to lead from the front.
We're looking for a Drainage Leading Hand who can roll up their sleeves, jump in with the crew when needed and keep an eye on the bigger picture. This is a role for someone who enjoys getting the job done, bringing people together and taking pride in delivering work that keeps Auckland's infrastructure performing at its best.
You'll be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing drainage works, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. From reactive maintenance and repairs through to planned works, you'll help manage day-to-day operations while providing guidance, support and leadership to your crew.
Working closely with Supervisors, clients, subcontractors and stakeholders, you'll ensure work is delivered to contract requirements while maintaining strong customer relationships. You'll also play an important role in developing team capability through coaching, training and mentoring, helping create a high-performing crew that looks out for one another and takes pride in quality workmanship.
This role offers a great mix of leadership and hands-on work. One minute you could be planning resources and coordinating work programmes, the next you'll be on-site helping solve a problem, supporting your team and keeping the project moving.
If you enjoy leading by example, thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to make a genuine impact on both people and projects, we'd love to hear from you.
