The opportunity - Te tūranga

As Content Platform Engineer you will support the studio production and News and Current Affairs operations, content contribution and distribution, linear playout and headend systems that underpin day to day business operations.

Your focus will be to provide selective solution design and implementation in conjunction with the Enterprise Architecture Team for key systems accountable to the Broadcast Delivery Systems Team.

You will ensure support services are aligned to customer expectations, continuously reviewed for areas of improvement and solutions meet stakeholder requirements and timeframes.

Your focus will be on

· Develop and maintain support documentation for all appropriate systems ensuring correct system operation and recovery can be carried out.

· Ensure all calls and requests are recorded, managed, acted upon and escalated as required. Responsible for ensuring checking of the incident logging system; clearing faults as early as possible.

· Ensure adherence to technology security policies and procedures, protect against unauthorised access, identify and address issues as required.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for

· Experience with scheduling, asset management and automation systems

· Experience with broadcast compression systems, DVB Service Information and DVB transmission, including DVB-T and DVB-S.

· Experience with RedHat (and other) Linux OS, Windows Server OS and VM environments

· Experience with the delivery of video over IP including but not limited to SMPTE ST 2022-6, SMPTE ST 2110, NDI and SRT.

· Proven experience in a complex technical, commercial environment with associated workflow, resource and project implementation experience.

· Must have experience of content processes and workflows with the ability to identify key issues and their impact in a broader business context.

· In depth knowledge of video, audio and control standards, and their transport mechanisms. Have a broad knowledge and awareness of future focussed digital media environments

· Demonstrated expertise and broad knowledge of multiple technologies/ platforms. Broad knowledge of relevant industry solutions and developments for technology.
