Senior Data Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our ICT team on a 12 month fixed term contract and play a key role in designing, building, and optimising our modern data platform.

This is a hands‑on technical role where you’ll work across large‑scale data environments, helping transform legacy systems into efficient, scalable solutions that deliver real business value.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll design, build, and maintain high‑quality data solutions that enable trusted, data‑driven decision‑making across the business.

You Will

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and data models using Snowflake and Azure tools
• Build and optimise ETL/ELT processes to ensure data is accurate, timely, and reliable
• Support the transition from legacy systems to modern, cloud‑based data platforms
• Monitor and improve data performance, cost efficiency, and system reliability
• Partner with stakeholders across ICT and the business to deliver fit‑for‑purpose data solutions
• Troubleshoot data issues, manage incidents, and provide ongoing support
• Contribute to data platform architecture, standards, and best practices

You’re a Technically Strong Data Engineer Who Thrives In Complex Environments And Enjoys Solving Problems At Scale. You’ll Bring

• 7+ years’ experience in data engineering or data warehousing
• Strong hands‑on experience with Azure data factory
• Proven expertise in building ELT pipelines, data models, and data integrations
• Advanced SQL skills and experience manipulating and analysing large datasets
• Strong problem‑solving ability and focus on performance, scalability, and cost optimisation
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with stakeholders
