About the team | Ko te rōpū nei

You will be working closely with and part of the Auahatanga team. The Auahatanga team are based on Level 4 of Tūranga, home to the Fiction, World Languages, Large Print, Graphic Novels, Biographies and CD Collection. Our Creative Space is full of creative technologies, including 3D printers, laser cutter, sewing machines, vacuum former, vinyl cutter and Media Studio. About the role | Ko te mahi nei

The Auahatanga Activation Coordinators support and engage customers to explore the technology available. The role is designed to promote and unlock opportunities the Auahatanga spaces can offer individuals and community groups, by empowering digital knowledge and confidence for the benefit of our communities.

This role will be based primarily at Tūranga, as well as moving around our Auahatanga - Creative Spaces and Libraries throughout the city, activating the spaces as needed. Tūranga holds a purpose built Auahatanga - Creative Space, along with a full recording studio. In this role you'll be responsible for activating these spaces, through various workshops and encouraging access through connections made. You'll be working with the central city community, local schools, organisations and businesses to see how this space can support the wider community and residents of Ōtautahi.

  • Hours of work - Sunday 10am-5pm, Monday 9am-5pm, Friday 12-8pm
  • Position - Permanent, part time
  • Location - This position is primarily based at Matatiki Hornby, but working across Auahatanga spaces in the network
  • Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $35.77 per hour to $39.74 per hour. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
  • Closing Date - Wednesday 10 June
