This newly created role sits at the centre of that shift: bringing hands-on expertise to shape how we use Salesforce Marketing Cloud and enabling our teams to deliver meaningful customer engagement at scale.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This is a pivotal role where you’ll take ownership of how marketing automation is designed, delivered, and embedded across the business. You’ll work across our Retail and Technology teams to ensure Salesforce Marketing Cloud enables high-quality, personalised customer journeys from acquisition through to retention and growth.
You’ll be part of a complex, fast-evolving environment, influencing and guiding teams on what great looks like as capability grows.
In this role, you will:
Own the setup, configuration, and ongoing evolution of Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Shape how customer journeys are designed and activated across lifecycle stages.
Partner across marketing, growth, customer experience and technology to align platform capability with business outcomes.
Enable teams to confidently use marketing automation through training, standards, and clear guardrails.
Influence how data, platforms, and customer engagement come together to support growth.
Act as a key bridge between our retail business and technology, guiding decisions and roadmap direction.
Qualifications

You’re someone who combines deep technical expertise with a strong understanding of how marketing, data, and customer experience come together. You’re comfortable working across complexity and know how to bring people with you — even when you don’t have direct authority.
You’ll bring:
Strong, hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
A deep understanding of data, systems, and how they enable customer engagement.
Proven ability to influence across multiple stakeholders and functions.
Experience working in large, complex organisations where collaboration is key.
The ability to translate between technical and business perspectives.
Confidence guiding others, lifting capability, and setting standards.
A proactive, self-directed approach, with strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
Most importantly, you’re motivated by the opportunity to shape how Contact uses marketing automation to unlock growth.

We support flexible working where it works for the individual, the team and the business. Our main hubs are in Wellington, Auckland and Tauranga, and this role is best suited to someone who can work flexibly from one of these locations to enable strong in person connection and collaboration. While we do have smaller sites across other centres of Aotearoa, proximity to a main hub is important for this role.
