The role | Te tūnga
Step into a fast-paced, high-profile environment where no two days are the same. As a Visits and Events Organiser, you’ll plan and deliver official visits to New Zealand and national commemorative events on behalf of Government.
You’ll coordinate end-to-end delivery, bringing together logistics, stakeholders, and protocols to ensure seamless, high-quality experiences. From managing timelines, budgets, and risks to supporting on-the-ground delivery, you’ll play a key role in showcasing Aotearoa on the national and international stage.
Working across agencies and with diverse stakeholders, you’ll help deliver events that run smoothly, meet expectations, and reflect the importance of each occasion. This role requires flexibility, including working irregular hours and travelling domestically to support event delivery.

- Proven experience in event delivery or project coordination in complex environments
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Confidence managing logistics, budgets, and risk in dynamic situations
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build trusted relationships
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly as priorities change
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse communities and stakeholders
