Marketing Data Analyst – Global Wave Group

Location: Albany, Auckland (Office based)

Reports to: Global Marketing Manager

Role Purpose

The Marketing Data Analyst will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and utilizing marketing analytics and tracking tools to provide clear, actionable insights on campaign performance and customer behavior. This role will work closely with the marketing and data teams to ensure that all key marketing activities are accurately tracked, measured, and continuously improved. This role focuses on tools such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Meta Pixel, and internal tracking systems to support data-driven decision-making across the marketing function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage marketing tracking tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Meta Pixel, internal systems) across websites, landing pages, and campaigns.
  • Partner with the marketing and data teams to design tracking plans and define key events, conversions, and funnel steps.
  • Monitor data quality, ensure tags and pixels are firing correctly, and proactively resolve tracking issues.
  • Build and maintain standard marketing dashboards and reports to summarize campaign performance and trends.
  • Provide clear, actionable insights and recommendations to improve conversion rates, lead quality, and ROI.
  • Support A/B tests and experiments by defining metrics, setting up tracking, and analyzing results.
  • Document tracking implementations, data definitions, and reporting standards to ensure consistency over time.
  • Train marketing team members to read dashboards and basic reports so they can self-serve common questions.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in digital marketing analytics, web analytics, or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics (preferably GA4) and at least one other tool such as Microsoft Clarity or Meta Pixel.
  • Practical experience implementing and troubleshooting tags and pixels via tools such as Google Tag Manager.
  • Strong skills in data extraction, analysis, and visualization using tools such as Excel/Sheets. Experience with BI tools (e.g. Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Ability to translate complex data into simple, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a systematic approach to documentation and quality control.
  • Good communication skills in English (both written and verbal); Chinese language skills are a plus.
