Senior Business Partner

This is a highly influential role where you will operate as a trusted advisor, guiding leaders through complexity, transformation, and change across a large, dynamic, and regulated environment.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

As a Senior Business Partner, you’ll work closely with senior leaders and executives to align people strategies with business priorities. You’ll lead impactful conversations, provide clear and balanced advice, and help drive performance, culture, and capability across your portfolio.

Key Areas Of Focus Include

• Acting as a strategic partner to senior leaders, shaping and delivering people plans aligned to ASB’s strategy
• Leading organisational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy to enable business outcomes
• Coaching and influencing leaders on performance, engagement, and employee relations
• Leading and embedding change initiatives, ensuring strong stakeholder engagement and adoption
• Using data and insights to inform decision-making and solve complex business problems
• Partnering with Centres of Excellence to design and deliver scalable, high-impact people initiatives
• Ensuring strong alignment to risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements

You’re an experienced Business Partner who operates confidently at a senior level and brings both strategic insight and pragmatic delivery.

You Will Bring

• 7+ years’ experience in a Business Partnering role, with a track record of operating in a senior capacity
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including executives
• Experience working within large, complex and heavily regulated organisations
• Strong influencing capability, with the ability to work effectively both upwards and across the organisation
• Confidence navigating complexity and ambiguity, bringing clarity and direction
• A solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to turn challenges into practical outcomes
• Experience across technology or transformation portfolios (highly desirable)

• Strong business acumen, with the ability to align people strategy to business outcomes
• A data-led and analytical approach to problem solving
• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
• The ability to act as a trusted coach and independent voice, providing thoughtful challenge and guidance
