Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW) is part of the Anglican Diocese of Waiapu, working alongside communities across Bay of Plenty, Tairāwhiti, Hawke’s Bay and Tararua to support the wellbeing of tamariki, rangatahi and whānau.

About the role

Growing Through Grief (GTG) delivers education-based programmes that support people experiencing loss, change and grief. Delivered in safe, group settings, these programmes help participants build understanding, resilience and connection.

As GTG Manager, you will provide operational leadership and programme oversight, leading a small team, strengthening delivery, developing programmes, and building strong relationships across communities and schools.

This is a regional role requiring regular travel across the Waiapu region.

You will be a collaborative and values-led leader who contributes positively to team culture and works in alignment with our Christian ethos. This role is part of the ACW Operational Leadership Team.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support the GTG team
  • Oversee programme delivery and drive continuous improvement
  • Research, develop and grow education-based grief programmes
  • Build partnerships with schools and community organisations
  • Ensure culturally responsive, trauma-informed practice

About you

  • Proven leadership experience in community or related settings
  • Strength in programme development and community engagement skills
  • Understanding of grief, loss and trauma-informed approaches (non-clinical)
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice
  • Collaborative, personable, values-led
