Mō te tūranga | About the Role

As an Analytics and Insights Specialist at Westpac, you’ll play a key role in enabling the bank’s foundational data assets, supporting the delivery of trusted, well‑structured, and reusable data that underpins performance reporting, analytics, and decision‑making across Westpac NZ.

A core focus of the role is contributing to the design, build, and ongoing enhancement of data assets that provide consistent, granular visibility across the product portfolio and customer lifecycle. This includes ensuring data is accurate, well‑governed, and fit‑for‑purpose to support downstream use cases.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about improving performance through robust data foundations, and who understands how to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions. You’ll bring strong problem‑solving capability, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across business and analytics teams to deliver high‑quality data outcomes.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • Experience working with complex data and delivering high‑quality reporting to support decision‑making in a large, complex organisation
  • Strong ability to build and manage effective relationships with internal stakeholders and cross‑functional teams
  • 3+ years’ experience using SAS and SQL to deliver business insights
  • Experience developing insights and reporting
  • Proven experience translating business requirements into data solutions, from analysis through to delivery and implementation
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, including an understanding of key banking metrics and performance measures (desirable)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to a range of audiences
