Diesel Mechanical Technician

Mann Tyres NZ Limited provides vehicle servicing and tyre solutions and requires Diesel Mechanics to support maintenance and repair of diesel vehicles and equipment. These roles are essential to ensure vehicles are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with mechanical and safety standards.

Position Title: Diesel Mechanic

Number of Positions: 2

Location: Auckland Region

Pay Rate: $33 – $42 per hour

Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

• NZQF Level 4 qualification OR at least 1 year experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on diesel engines and heavy vehicles.
• Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and engine tune‑ups.
• Inspect mechanical components including brakes, steering, suspension, and engines.
• Replace or repair worn or damaged parts and components.
• Test vehicles after repair to ensure proper functioning.
• Maintain accurate service records and job documentation.
• Use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify mechanical issues.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and equipment in safe working condition.
• Assist with related workshop tasks when required.
