Music Tutor

Auralias Music Academy

Company Description

Auralis Music Academy provides instrumental music lessons and across Tauranga schools and private studio settings. We support students from beginner level through to more advanced playing, helping them build confidence, skill, and a lifelong love of music.

Role Description

This is an on-site fixed-term role for a Music Tutor based in Tauranga. The immediate need is for a piano tutor, with approximately 2–3 after-school teaching hours available each week. However, for the right candidate, brass and woodwind teaching hours are also available now, with a mix of school-hour and after-school teaching. These could be combined with the piano role or offered as a separate role, with negotiable hours that may grow into a position of 15+ hours per week.

We are also interested in hearing from musicians with experience teaching vocals, percussion, strings, and early childhood music.

There are opportunities to become involved in school-based music programmes, concert band conducting, classroom music teaching, and other music education projects.

Most of our students are beginner to early intermediate level, so confidence working with developing musicians is more important than advanced qualifications. Formal music qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
